Temple University has brought you a number of concerts in the past but nothing compares to an event to raise funds for two countries recently hit with natuaral disasters....

Disasters and tragedies strike without any prior pretense of a country’s gross domestic product or political borders. Typically, we are so consumed in our daily routines and obligations that we sometimes fail to realize that there is a world outside of the borders of the United States. Recently, the countries of the Philippines and Haiti have suffered great disasters and tragedies.


WITH THAT BEING SAID....A GROUP OF CONCERNED STUDENTS HAVE GATHERED TOGETHER AND HAVE FORMED

TWO COUNTRIES, ONE CAUSE!!!!!!

The Philippines:

On Saturday, September 26, 2009, Typhoon Ketsana violently struck the capital city of Manila. The storm has already claimed hundreds of lives, flooded over 2 million homes, and stranded hundreds of thousands of people. This has been the heaviest rainfall that the country has faced in over forty years.


Haiti:

On the night of January 12th, 2010 about ten miles southwest of the country’s capital, Port-au-Prince, a fierce earthquake with a magnitude estimated at 7.0, struck the island. The earthquake was the worst in the region in over 200 years, leaving the country in shambles and killing at least over 100,000 people, with more bodies left unaccounted for.
